A Vanderpump Rules Friend Speaks Out On Jax Taylor's Father's Death: "Jax Doesn't Deserve Something Like This"

Rachael O'Brien gives an update on Jax's well-being.

Vanderpump Rules'  Jax Taylor is coping with the loss of someone he called "his best friend." The SURver announced that his father, Ronald Cauchi, lost his battle with cancer in a tweet posted on Thursday, December 28. Long-time Vanderpump Rules friend Rachael O'Brien stopped by The Daily Dish podcast and gave some updates about how Jax has handled everything from his father's cancer diagnosis to his recent passing.

"I feel horrible for him," said Rachael, who has been watching her own father go through a long and arduous battle with cancer. She revealed that Jax reached out to her upon learning of his father's diagnosis.

"When I dated Jax, like, 10 years ago, Jax was very close to knowing all about that stuff," Rachael explained. "So when his dad got diagnosed, he texted me. He's like, 'How did you deal with this? I don't know how to deal with this.'"

As difficult and shocking as it must have been for Jax to learn of his father's cancer, Rachael believed the rate at which his cancer progressed may have been even more unexpected.  Jax had only just confirmed his father's illness on social media in the first week of December.

Saddened to hear the news, Rachael called Jax to send her condolences. "First, Brittany texted me and then he texted me and just basically said, 'You know, I don't know how to deal with this. He was my best friend.'"
