Tonya Harding and Piers Morgan Squared Off on Live TV Over Nancy Kerrigan

Has the controversial skater finally met her match?

Embattled ice skater Tonya Harding was starting to have a good week in the media spotlight with a surprise appearance at Sunday's Golden Globes to support Allison Janney, who won for her portrayal of Harding's mother in the new film I, Tonya. But that came crashing down with a Tuesday appearance on Good Morning Britain in which she was brought down to size by Piers Morgan about the 1994 attack on her skating rival Nancy Kerrigan.

"Maybe it suits you to play the victim, but the victim here wasn't you, it was Nancy Kerrigan who had her Olympic dream shattered," Morgan said pointedly.

"Thank you so much," Harding replied. "I appreciate being on your show, but I think I'm going to have to say have a good night."

"You're going to end the interview because I think Nancy is the victim, not you?" he retorted.

She countered, "People don't seem to understand there was a lot I was going through," possibly referring to the physical abuse she said she suffered from then-husband Jeff Gillooly. "That was why I chose to do this movie."

Morgan didn't let her off the hook there.

"You did know what they were planning, didn't you?" he accused.

"No," she asserted. "I didn't know anything prior."

Morgan cut the interview short before it had a chance to get any uglier. I, Tonya is in theaters now.
